World of warcraft community is growing day by day and to this date there are over 7 million active users who come together and share the endless adventures of this MMORPG. One of the very interesting aspect of the game is its economy. Players get to sell and buy items that they consume during the play. Game offers every player to have maximum 2 major professions. What that means is that at some point in game you will have to go to some vendor or contact a player with a different profession to get an item that you need. The economy of the game runs very much like real economy based on supply and demand. There are certain items that are easily available from game vendors and then there are some rare items that are really RARE and available at a premium from different players.

Auction house in the game plays a major role in driving this economy. A lot of time we do not know what an item's worth is or how the prices have moved in last couple of weeks or months. This information plays a major role in deciding for traders to decide if they want to sell an item today or wait for some time so that price is right. Unfortunately game does not give you access to the history data at all. And does not provide and access to the auction house data outside the game.

WoW Economy site is built to provide you some interesting analysis of the auction house data and let you go back in history to see how an item's prices have moved as the game has matured. And with Burning Crusade patch coming up, this piece of information is going to be very interesting. And most importantly if your MODs are broken because of any patch, you do not have to rely on those MODs any more. You can view the trends and prices right here on our web site and be in trading bussiness without wasting any time.

Data Collection

A very obvious question that came from most of our early users was how often do we collect data and how many servers we check. We scan all servers and all factions atleast once a day and then analyse the results to present you some general trends. At this moment the site does not allow you to select server and faction and view trends on that server. That part of the application is under testing and will be nmade available very soon. So stay tuned and check the sites resularly.
